Where I Actually Find Website Design Inspiration (That Most Folks Miss)
What’s good y’all, John D. Saunders here. You know the vibes.
Let’s talk real quick about something every designer hits eventually, the creative wall.
You’ve opened Figma 12 times. Scrolled through the same 3 Dribbble shots. Still staring at a blank artboard.
That’s when you don’t need more motivation you need better inputs. So today, I’m sharing my go-to platforms for finding real, high-level web design inspiration. The kind that sparks ideas, fuels systems thinking, and helps you create sites that slap.
This site stays slept on — but it’s a goldmine. It features top-tier websites from around the world, many of them award winners. What I love is that it gives you visual filters for color palettes, content structure, and even interaction type.
You can explore, vote on your favorites, and most importantly, click straight through to the live site. That way, you’re seeing the full UX in action — not just a static mockup.
Pro tip: Use the WhatFont Chrome extension while you browse to snag typefaces you like.
Behance is still that platform when you want to see full-scale web projects — not just UI screenshots. You get the design system, the process, and how the visuals tie into brand storytelling.
Here’s the cheat code: use the “Search Projects” function. That gives you deep dives into case studies, style guides, and real client work. Perfect when you need structure or want to present polished concepts to your own clients.
If you’re building for the future think Web3, NFTs, or experimental brands Abdz-do is a fire resource.
They curate design projects that lean more conceptual. You’ll find a lot of unique layouts, bold typography, and next-gen UI ideas. It’s especially good for breaking out of the same-old SaaS patterns.
Look up categories like UI/UX or branding to narrow your inspo flow.
This one leans a bit more branding-heavy, but it’s a clean, curated gallery of design-forward sites with unique style.
The filtering here is key: search by industry, design style, or platform. For example, want inspiration for a food & beverage site? Choose that category and start exploring top-tier examples that go beyond templates.
Landbook is all about organization. And when you’re in that early idea stage, sometimes structure is what unlocks the spark.
Browse by site type — agency, product, app — or get hyper-specific with their tag system. I’ve found everything from onboarding flows to hero sections I’ve used as inspiration for full brand builds.
Think of it as Pinterest for real working websites.
Lapa Ninja’s interface is clean, and their “browse by color” feature? Super useful when you’re working within a strict brand palette or just want to explore dark mode options.
I use this one weekly. It’s that reliable. From SaaS to storytelling sites, you’ll find inspiration for all types of web projects here.
Bonus Tools I Use on the Daily
WhatFont (Chrome Extension): Instantly ID any font on a live site Webflow Showcase: See what the Webflow community is pushing live Muzli by InVision: Design news + inspiration in your browser tab Mobbin: Mobile UX patterns from top apps, all in one place Awwwards: Best of the best, if you’re aiming for recognition
Final Word
Creativity isn’t just about being original it’s about remixing the right references. By curating better input, you produce better output.
So next time you hit a creative block, skip the scrolling and hit one of these. Screenshot, dissect, and remix into something uniquely yours.
Stay inspired. Stay building!
