1 Easy Tactic to Keep Clients Happy You Can Do in 5 Minutes
It’s Friday morning, my inbox is light and I’m sipping a bottle of Kombucha for a boost of energy.
Clients are responding positively to our Client Manager’s emails and I’m getting ready to squeeze in a project review before I check out for the day.
No fires to put out.
No clients waiting for updates.
No rush to engage before the end of the week.
It’s all because our Client Manager Jay added one light task to his Friday morning tasks:
End of the Week Report Emails
Best of all, anyone can do this in minutes.
Freelancer, Founder or VA.
This quick, concise email to clients is a great way to:
Build Trust and Transparency
Keeping clients informed about project progress fosters trust and establishes transparency in your working relationship.
Clients feel secure knowing you're consistent and accountable. It really helps.
Maintain Interest and Engagement
Regular updates keep clients engaged with the project and interested in your work. It ensures their continued involvement and enthusiasm throughout the project's lifecycle.
Sometimes, you just gotta stay on their radar.
Yes, I’m most cases, it’s that simple.
Set Clear Expectations
A weekly email allows you to set clear expectations by highlighting what's completed and what's coming up.
This minimizes confusion and reduces the chances of misaligned expectations.
Mitigating these issues is a great tactic, especially if you have any issues throughout the project. Stay transparent and share any hindrances.
Improves Client Retention
Clients who feel involved, informed, and valued are more likely to stay with your agency for future projects or long-term services.
We JUST had an experience where the client signed up for another project during the first one because they loved our process and updates.
We keep these emails brief, while providing an overview of the tasks we worked on for the week, what we’re working on the following week and a link to overall project progress:

A win-win, y’all.
We can’t tell you how many times this email has provided validation to clients and even helped us when projects went longer than originally scheduled.
If clients see they’re creating a bottleneck, each week they have a chance to rectify it via our updates.
So, do it, y’all.
And let me know, I love to hear success stories.
