Behind The Build: Virtual Museum Experience
What is good y'all? John D. Saunders here, you know the vibes. In today's video we're talking about museums, art houses, and how you can develop a virtual exhibit that exceeds anyone's expectations. Creates an avenue for your museum where folks don't even have to visit you physically to get a sense of the art and awe of what you provide.
So let's dive in on my computer and I'll walk you through this process with real time examples.

Here's another one of our clients, Miami Mocad, which is a museum in Miami. Now I wanna talk about virtual exhibit ideas and how we help them convey this on the website. Now, of course, a lot of times with museums nowadays, they have a lot of virtual exhibitions, so folks can go through the website. Navigate, check out these exhibitions virtually from anywhere. And so here's how we optimize that on this site. So I'm gonna show you a specific page that I really like actually. So here we have virtual exhibitions.
If you go to the main page, you get an overview of the current exhibitions they have that are available. So right now there are two. You have the life, black life and the time of now, and then you have art connecting communities. Now if you click that exhibition, you get all the specifics, you get the overview, you get to see some of the art pieces, and then you actually get a virtual tour of that exhibit. So this is a really great way to encompass this and see all this information at a bird's eye view instantly on the website.
So not only do you get this beautiful overview of the exhibition, you get a video walkthrough or VR preview if you virtually walk through that space. And then of course you get information regarding artists and a gallery that you can scroll through. Now what we've done is we've tied this all into the content management system. So if you click an artist, for example, we've created an artist filter on the site where you'll be able to see all their information, their biography, their style, their theme, their regions, and then you also get related artists based on that category.

Now, taking that a step further, another thing that we did was we incorporated their murals on site. So they have murals all around Miami. That had information and specifics about the artist and their ideas behind it. So what I like to do is create this landing page that's long form that provides a virtual exhibit for that potential visitor. So they get all the information they need to make an informed decision on if they actually want to visit that mural in real time. I. So as soon as you get here at the top, you have a QR code. If you scan this QR code, it gives you more information directly to your device. Also, this is completely responsive as well.
So if I go here, when I minimize this, you can see that this page is completely responsive also. Now as I scroll down, I can learn more about this mural. I can learn overview, I could learn the location, the size, I can also learn a bit more about the artist. We also incorporated this really cool 3D 360 of the artist in action as you can see him here, and you can actually tap this and get more information regarding that 3D exhibit in AR. I won’t show you that now, but just to give you an idea.
Then of course we have these cool talking bubbles overlaid over the mural, so if you click them, you get videos of folks talk about overtown, the area where the mural's located. And specifics that are tied to the YouTube videos, to overviews and people in the city that contributed to this design, look and feel for this beautiful mural piece. Then, of course, more social proof, right? People at the mural, people checking it out, looking at the artwork.

Of course, we have oral stories. These are stories all from people that were influenced by the mural. Folks that influenced the mural's design, the look and feel, civil rights and courage, all of that really cool stuff. And then of course, it closes out with history and then the mural location. So if you click this on the map, it'll take you directly to that area where you can see the mural. And then we also show related murals here as well.
So, one of the great things, and some of the key points here that we wanna point out in regards to making a virtual exhibit is tons of image content, right? You wanna have visual imagery so the folks can feel like they're there. You wanna have some type of QR code that can pull all the data and information regarding that mural. You wanna talk about the artist, right? Play up the artist, talk about work that they've done, talk about their experience, and then you wanna tie in the people in the community that are part of that design look and feel.
Also you have to have social proof, some type of images showcasing what's happening, what's going on, being able to provide that content. And overall, this is going to give you an amazing virtual museum experience. So I'm, I'm hoping that you all enjoy the behind the build on this website build that we did for our client.
