How to Showcase Case Studies

What is good y'all? John D Saunders here, you know the vibes! In today's video I'm talking about case studies and a strategy that we've implemented that's helped us exponentially increase traffic and flow on our website.

So originally we had case studies that were super long-winded, tons of text and what we've realized by looking at analytics is folks are mostly looking at the images. So we reworked our entire case study process and changed it to implement more imagery, keep it simple, concise and organized by categories. So I'm going to jump into my computer right now and show you what that looks like.

Case Study Overview

All right y'all! So we learned something really specific regarding case studies, that folks don't really want to see a bunch of text and your entire process from A to Z. Honestly, they don't care. I'll tell you looking at Google Analytics we found out that most people weren't even looking at the text they were mostly scrolling to the image sections. So we revamped our entire case study process. So here you can see I'm on the case study page for one of our clients teal.

You can see the overview, which is a quick three to four sentences about the project, what we did. You can hit ‘View Live’ to see a live version of the website. And then here we have the different product types or project types, web design and web development. That's what we really focused on with this, we designed the website we created all the components and then we went to development with the website and built that in Webflow.

So this gives you everything you need at a bird's eye view and then they can scroll down to see the project as a whole. So here's what the project looked like, here's what it looks like in a mockup so people can see what it looks like on both desktop and mobile. These are some of the pages and of course you want to make sure that you display this content really well, I'll show you how you can do that in a few.

But as you can see all the contents here for the person or in user to make an informed decision on if they want to collaborate with us. If you click another case study, it's really the same thing, an intro paragraph about the project. Really talking about how the client approached us, what we did and the result. And then of course more images for them to be able to browse and look at throughout the entire project. And of course we always have the different things that we provided the client right here.

Case Study Categories

Now one thing that we added to the case studies which is really helpful is if you go to the main page we've added categories. So this tells clients at a bird's eye view our main focal niche points for the types of clients we work. Churches, museums, fintech, film, SAAS, Startups, these are all clients that we love to work with and collaborate on a regular basis.

So at a bird’s eye view they know exactly who we provide these to and they can actually look at the categories here. This was entirely built in Webflow custom using a CMS or content management system and then we created specific collections for the project and it just worked out really well. But as you can see, all the visuals are here, all the content here. It's really easy to browse through all of our projects and look at the level of work that we've completed.

Recap

So just to recap all this, you want to start with providing case study categories on that main page. You want to make sure you provide a quick overview, maybe three to four sentences. Has some type of link that goes to the website so they can see that in real time as well. And then beautifully crafted images. There's a website that I like to use called ui8 that has beautiful mockups.

You can actually go to the website, click mockups and it'll take you to this page and you can just browse these mockups to see which one you want to purchase. As you can see here these look beautiful. You really just replace these and this is in Photoshop. So just really taking a screenshot of your project inputting into this file and then keeping it moving and now it looks just a beautiful display of your content. I hope that was helpful!
